Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez claim just friends?

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were caught at the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party sharing a kiss, and it’s not the first time the Biebs and Selena have been seen getting romantic. You practically can hear the sobs of tween girls the world over.
“Before the pair finally took their romance public at an Oscars after-party on Sunday night, Bieber, 16, and Gomez, 18, stayed at a penthouse suite at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif. (just outside Laguna Beach), a source tells UsMagazine.com.” That was Saturday.
During their stay at the posh, five-star resort, the twosome were “affectionate, cuddling and holding hands” while on a stroll along the beach, the source added.Selena and Biebs also were holding hands as they walked the red carpet Sunday night at the 2011 Oscars. The kiss was just a peck, but it was on the lips, more intimate that the Celebuzz photo that shows Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez sharing kisses on the cheek and hugs and cuddles in a photo booth.
And now the internet is abuzz with rumors about what Justin and Selena may have done together in the hotel where they spent the night before the Oscars. It’s troubling that fans won’t let kids be kids, but it’s hard to be a kid when you’re as famous as the couple people are calling “Jelena”.
There is a lot of hate floating around, too. Female fans are calling Selena Gomez all manner of foul names and otherwise claiming that the older star is using Justin Bieber to prop up her own career. It’s hard to think anyone really would believe that. Justin Bieber is a big enough boy to make his own decisions with regard to which girl he might like, and if he likes Selena, more power to him. It’s not as though Biebs couldn’t have any girl he wanted.
Whatever the case, the two look happy together for now, and both of them have plenty of time to kiss, fall in love, experiment, make mistakes, and move on if need be. It’s hard enough to grow up, but it’s even harder to grow up in the limelight. Hopefully fans will cut down on the nay-saying about a little kiss and give Bieber and Gomez a chance to explore their budding romance.
If Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were best friends before the kiss, it’s hard to say that sort of relationship could be a bad thing. Let them kiss. Let them love. And take the hate down a notch, please.
